When I was a young child, my family would take me to my local theatre to see their performances, with the most common being the Panto's. I really wanted to be involved with Theatre but I wasn't sure whether I wanted to be on the stage or in the production aspect. My family signed me up to an acting school near me, and when it came to the performance(s), this was when I fell in love with Lighting and Sound; I didn't want to be an actor, I wanted to 'do the lights'.
When I started high school, there was a brand new auditorium which would hold school concert's, and school productions. As lighting in schools are a lot more dangerous and required a trained professional, I operated the audio aspects of those school concerts. And due to there being a limited number of students capable of playing bass guitar, I would play the bass in the school productions; We Will Rock You, Hairspray, and The Wiz.
After leaving high school, I went on to study A-Level Music, ICT, and As-Level Music Technology. However, I fell out of love with these studies and chose to leave and re-enrol at another college, to study BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Technical Theatre.
After leaving college, I went to study Live Events Production at Backstage Academy (an off-campus division of University of Bolton). This is where I am currently studying.
